Welcome:

This is the LOADHELPER™ Website. The LOADHELPER™ is a patented helper spring product developed by Preferred Design LLC. This product is comparable to the air lift type systems (It doesn't affect the normal ride of the pickup truck when you're unloaded). However, it is easier to use and more dependable than air bags. There are no air bags to air up (the air lift systems either have an expensive on-board air compressor, or you have to hunt for compressed air to fill up the bags before hauling a load). And, since there are no air bags to air up, there are no air bags to blow out when they become worn or accidentally punctured (which can happen to the air bag system).

The LOADHELPER™ Helper Springs are completely mechanical. Simply pull a pin to let the units down into their 'helper springs' mode before hauling a load. They contact the pickup truck's leaf springs. This effectively shortens the leaf springs length to stiffen the suspension. After hauling the load, pull the pin to raise the units off the pickup's leaf springs into their 'normal riding' mode. It's easy, simple and inexpensive. But perhaps the greatest advantages of all is one simple thing--Your loaded pickup will be safer to drive!

Compare the price of an air system--about $270+ for the springs plus another $270+ for the compressor unit. This makes the air systems more than twice as expensive and they are harder and more expensive to maintain.

Compressed air shock absorbers have problems competing with the LOADHELPER™ system also. They simply cannot keep the pickup rear end from sagging under heavy loads. These type shock absorbers are only good for lighter loads and you still have to find compressed air to fill them up.
