Loaded pickup truck with LOADHELPER™ Same loaded pickup truck without LOADHELPER™ We, at Preferred Design, understand the needs of people who haul heavy loads on their pickups. We've been hauling heavy loads a long time. We developed and patented the Loadhelper™ system to make heavy hauling safer. Whether you're hauling heavy items in the bed of a truck, or pulling a heavily loaded trailer, the Loadhelper™ system will lift the rear of your truck. More importantly, it will make your loaded pickup safer to drive and easier to control. The LOADHELPER™ System allows a pickup truck to carry it's maximum allowable load with 65%* less rear end sag. It makes the loaded pickup truck easier to drive and safer with better weight distribution. It also keeps your headlights pointed down at night for an even safer ride. The LOADHELPER™ is a Helper Spring System that fits most 1/2 ton pickup trucks and some others. It is mechanically actuated. That is, it locks into it's 'up' position where it's out of the way and doesn't affect the ride of the vehicle. By pulling a pin and relocating it, the LOADHELPER™ goes into it's 'Helper' mode where it immediately begins to help support a load. It does not require compressed air to work, as does an air bladder system. It does not constantly stiffen the ride when not in use, as do regular mechanical helper springs. The LOADHELPER™ Sytem is ruggedly 'overdesigned' to last. Note: The LOADHELPER™ System is designed to increase level load carrying capacity. Never load vehicle beyond the factory Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. *Preferred Design LLC test The LOADHELPER™ is up and out of the way for a regular ride.
Reposition the locator pin (to let the unit down) and it's ready to haul a load! The Loadhelper™ attaches behind the rear wheels on both sides of truck. What does the LOADHELPER™ fit? The LOADHELPER™ System Boxed Set comes with two units (and mounting hardware), one for each side of the pickup truck. The LOADHELPER™ units bolt directly to the frame behind the rear wheels of the pickup truck. A temporary spacer is placed under the front rubber bumper of the unit to orient it correctly to the vehicle's leaf spring. Mounting holes are marked and drilled and then the self-tapping bolts are 'screwed in' to form the threads. The units are then bolted on to begin use.
